Hilary Cohen rated it really liked it Sep 16, The powerful sense of defamiliarization that Robbe-Grillet’s novel achieves, its ability to make the common seem suddenly strange and alien, is one which might be usefully re-conceived in terms of an electronic hypertext.

It’s snowing and he has a sallow complexion with a certain amount of days’ beard growth. Dizzying and often beautiful, more accessible on first reading than Jealousy, but maybe that’s because I read Jealousy first. IMO, reading for the imagery itself is labrinthe for the first time. There are a lot of things reasonably expectable from novels and stories in general; most of those things seem to be or actually are missing. An establishing shot sets the scene.
