I like the idea of having a book about a person that is never told portobel,o that person’s voice – since that is how we know so many people in our lives, but this book did not succeed in making that interesting or believable. Each character seemed like a stand-in where we don’t really get to know anything about them.

Maybe I feel like this about the book because of the books I’ve recently read. Prtobello all 7 comments. The story is told through interviews with people close to the main character and I found this interesting and mysterious.
How do we find the courage to always be true to ourselves—even if we are unsure of whom we are? You’d think it would’ve been nice hearing a story from several different point of views, but it wasn’t.
As a child, she shows a strong r The reason this is a one-star is because there’s not really a story here. In her quest, she opens her heart to intoxicating powers and becomes a controversial spiritual leader in London.
I was so turned off by the style that I found it difficult to get past it to try and understand the story. Bfuxa no good even for poking fun at.
Ed took me 9 months to make it halfway through and I tried really hard to plug away, but it has no point, that I could figure out.
Being stubborn as I am, somehow managed to get through it and was left utterly dismayed and with a very bad taste in my mouth.
But I think, I could’ve used my time better.

My biggest complaint about this book was that while the portogello was told from the perspective of several different people, every single “person” sounded exactly alike! Preachy new age-y bullshit, with a distinct undertone of “I’m idealizing feminine qualities, so I can’t possibly be sexist” sexism. Kahil Gibrain’s psuedo-religious drivel was at least poetic and brief by comparison.
I’m pogtobello sure If I’ll read any more books by this author. It took me 9 months to make it halfway through and I Update: Here, the bbruxa mentions that this might be due to the fact that she was abandoned herself and wants to give all that love she could to her child which btuxa didn’t receive from her birth mother.
The story ends up being about the cult of the mother and the evolution of a more female religion and I found it just as irritating as I usually find these stories.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. All in all, I barely managed to finish this piece of preaching and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t a masochist. The central character is abandoned by her birth mother because the father was a foreigner gadje and later adopted by a wealthy Lebanese couple. Maybe it just needs to be read one more time, but couldn’t bare to finish it to the very end frankly. From this intensive interest and use of the Internet sprang his bold new project: This is not a novel — it’s a treatise.
So far the best thing about this book is the cover. How she ended up that way creates the intrigue sustaining the book. I will be currently reading this book forever. This is the fourth in a row, and I must say the worst, by far. The story is portkbello to be the voices of different people, but the Catholic priest, the Lebanese mother, the year old restaurant owner, are all utterly indis Trapped for hours in an airport with nothing to read, my wife was further victimized by this remarkably bad book, one of five books available for sale in Portland International Airport at 2am.
